I never drank any alcoholic beverages until around 1991 or so, and that was wine. I like wine well enough, but it's really not me, if you know what I mean. Beer is a different story, but that tale didn't begin until about 1993 when I drank my first cold one: a Guinness. Not the best choice for a first go. I think it took about an hour to finish a whole pint. Not surprisingly, it took another 10 years to try another beer. I don't remember what it was, but I've not looked back since. I've become something of a beer geek, never touching the likes of a Bud or Corona (those are actually beer, right?), preferring local and regional brews instead. And I've only ever drank a beer from a bottle twice and that only because of the lack of glassware.
And so to kick off this blog, I raise a cold one (but not in a frosted glass, cause that's just wrong) to my old friend Mark. Cheers!
